About Us

BIPOC Mountain Collective (BMC) Seattle is a nonprofit dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive community for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in outdoor adventure. We provide resources, mentorship, and opportunities to empower BIPOC individuals to explore the beauty of nature.

BMC Seattle is powered by Vibe Tribe Adventures—a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit—is an extraordinary initiative that unites and empowers individuals from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities who are passionate about snow sports and outdoor adventures. It encompasses a network of dedicated clubs across various locations, including Denver, Colorado Springs, Seattle, Canada, Washington DC, and Howard University.

How We Started

It all started with Facebook post on the Black Skiers and Snowboarders Facebook page. Kim was looking for someone to ride with a get to know the local mountains. Deanne answered her post and the two meet at Crystal Mountain. They hit it off immediately and instantly became friends.

They both saw the need for a BIPOC club in the Seattle area. They reached out to BMC Colorado to start a sister club in the PNW.

BIPOC Mountain Collective: Seattle was born February 2023. We are an affiliate club of the National Brotherhood of Snowsports (NBS) and the Denver branch of BIPOC Mountain Collective based out of Colorado; BIPOC Mountain Collective Global.
